I can't decide which car to get. As privileged as it sounds, I don't know really know which to pick.

@sigg3 so I’m not bothered about super special (overpriced) alloy wheels, vast amounts of technology I’d never know how to work (keyless entry annoys me, for example!) lying extra for different coloured roof/mirrors, unnecessarily oversized engines etc!

@Sarah what do you list under Do Not Want?

I’d do a list of what you need, followed by what you’d like and filter it that way! I work at a car garage so when I change my car this is what I do!
For example, I need it to be fuel efficient, at a certain price, I’d like it to have a higher spec of trim, and a decent sized engine so it’s capable of speeding up quickly to overtake etc. I also list what I don’t want/need as there’s no point paying the extra for things that you’ll never use!😁

SUVs are hit and miss these days, some are really expensive in mpg, but that depends on gas prices. (It's famously expensive in Norway.)

@Sigg3 That's what I'm thinking of as well, most probably an SUV so I can use it for a lot of things. At the same time, there's a Porsche available but it might not be economic in the long run (repairs, I heard, are quite expensive).

I usually go for long lasting cars (higher up front cots), because the grief of going to the mechanic is just too much hassle. But I'm no good with engines.
