  I've been using i3 with xfce. I only use xfce-settings and Thunar though.
  
  The i3 successor for Wayland is called Sway. Haven't checked it out yet.

  @Armatus I also am using both GNOME3 and i3 now. Loving i3.

  I want something that is pleasing to the eye though, and this is great and smooth. It relaxes me too when I need it. If I want a tiling wm then awesome is what I will use.

  use tiling w.managers - nothing between you and software, no bells and whistles
