  @Sigg3 No idea how much it is costing me (our power bill seems fine) - they are not incredibly old for my taste

  @deavmi Is that a 3U or 4U form factor? It looks taller than a 2U.
  
  @sigg3 Even new switches and servers tend to use more power and generate more heat than a home-use computer would, but you're right that a newer system is usually designed with more power consumption reductions than an older system.
