in my country all kinds of demonstrations have been allowed, anti-vaccine, qanon, nazis, etc., during the pandemic, but now demonstrations on women's day are prohibited.

    @deavmi put positively: democracy is not a matter of course, it's a civilizational achievement, which entails it is something that can be lost.
    Each particular country must decide its own level of toleration for this kind of political hypocrisy, but tolerating it does not validate it.

    @deavmi fascists use free speech to advocate for removing free speech. This is a practical contradiction. Their right to voice their opinion is only guaranteed by the political system they're attacking. You see how that goes?
