#Twitter #President
Donald Trump isn't more than a plebeian tribune. He wants to be cheered by the people. His policy is limited to start shitstorms on Twitter. His power is, that he has shown, that the social networks are now more powerful than the associated press. U.S. democracy has always been too much oriented on the president. The lack of democratic control, the deep state, fear and alternative facts are all the ingredients that are needed to create an #autocracy.

Even scarier is the power of government over its citizens.
A government can, at its mere whim, lock you up indefinitely, torture you, your loved ones, deprive you of your hard earned resoures and close all avenues of relief or justice ... and there is nothing one can do once trapped.

Decades later, the government would simply say "Oh! We made a mistake" and the world would go on like nothing ever happened.

    That I can understand.

There are powerful lobbies that want you to be scared of him for all the wrong reasons. Lobbies that control some (if not most) of media, corporates, politicians, education and ... Hollywood. Lobbies that are getting limited success. For myself, I find the existance of these lobbies, and their success in controlling minds of people way more scary than any politician they paint with crazy.

That isn't the point. The point is, if Bush, Obama or Clinton had started a world war, how would that be any different?

If you are scared of Trump starting a world war, why weren't you scared when Obama started record number of wars?

Trump is no more a madman than Obama or Bush.

So if he decides to start world war 3 then it is OK because it is a democracy?

I do not understand the point of this crib.

Trump was elected by due democratic process. Whatever power he has as President, he inherits it from the democratic system. Did you wake up just now that the President has power?

He is a poitician and like all politicians, he is successful only when people stand behind him. Yes, of course he wants to be cheered and would connect with people with whatever is the best medium for that (happens to be Twitter, as of today).
