We are actually greatly increasing the number of trees in the world, and they suck up more CO2 than ever. Sadly, so little is actually rain forest but new forests.

With a new climate-denier president in Brazil(?no recuerdo:/), I fear logging will go on even faster.

It's a fact that humanity deforest this planet. Spain was deforest to build the Ships to bring the gold from the new world. England deforest Irland for the navy of the empire. United States deforest their country to become a superpower. The Roman empire deforest Syria to build their ships.

So I don't know what you are talking about again...

@Shalimar The number of trees in the world is increasing and there are more trees today than it was 35 years ago. This is mostly a human ecological effort. Which is great news for the climate. To my great sorrow, it does nothing for the rainforests specifically.

I'm just trying to shine a little light of hope. We can't save the forests if we don't believe it's possible.
