    I don't think I knew a single fellow student who studied for a specific job. But I was in the humanities, and currently we're an undervalued resource :/

    I understand that, and my point is that there are more reasons for studying than getting a job. That was the premise for the point you're making.

    Education is not free, but it adds a lot of value to the society, so the question is how should we spread the cost? Clearly, society should cover all or most of it. Society benefits more than any individual student.

    The question is: should I study to get a job to pay for my studies? To say it clearly: schould education be free?
