@Felixp7 It's original. I don't do much fanart, but I tagged it as "Anime" since my drawing style was heavily inspired by anime's look.

@Sarah Thanks! I've had issues with perfectionism too, and it served to really stall me for a long time. Now I'm just trying to enjoy the activity of drawing, rather than competing with people.

@Sarah I was like that too, until I got fed up with never getting anything done. But watercolors, those I never tried again after growing up. Oh well.

@felixp7 I didn’t do too badly at art at school but i didn’t like how someone would judge using their perception of what was good! Growing up, we lived across the field from an artist, she encouraged me and bought me my own set of watercolours to help me along - I think the issue is I’m a bit of a perfectionist and if something’s not perfect, I’d rather not do it!🙈🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

@Gespenstr That's so cute! Is it an OC? I'm not very familiar at all with anime.

@Sarah In my experience, people who say that were probably discouraged from practicing at an early age, likely by their parents and/or art teacher, and never tried again for various reasons. That it takes years of work to reach this skill level with traditional art shouldn't keep you from having fun fooling around, possibly in a different medium you find easier to learn.

That’s great!! I’m terrible at drawing - stick men is just about my limit!🤦🏼‍♀️
