Sigg3 2 years ago@hyolobrika I was pointing out the existing conventions, not whether I agree to them or not :)
Do you disagree that it's commonly seen as acceptable to kick upwards?- 0

Hyolobrika 2 years agoI disagree, @sigg3. "Kicking up" is just as bad as "kicking down", otherwise that is hypocrisy. Furthermore, we should always treat each other as individuals not as groups. This means not designating certain groups as "acceptable" targets or insulting people with group-based slurs.

Sigg3 2 years ago@hyolobrika The two slurs might both appear equal, but they address people on the opposite sides of the power scale. Kicking upwards is socially acceptable, but kicking downard not so much.
(The equivalent to "hard working spic" would be redneck, historically speaking, someone so poor they have to work outside in the middle of the day.)- 0

Hyolobrika 2 years agoOne thing though, they served a dish called the 'Crafty Gringo'. I wonder if anyone would get away with serving a dish called the 'Hard-Working Spic'?
