  I like side bars. Monitors are wider than they are high, good to use the space :)

  @Rgalex the menu would be open by default on desktops and closed by default on mobile. The problem with the to bar is it's already cluttered and there will be private messaging to add. @johnnynull I will post some pictures when I start on the post boxes 😀

  I think that the sidebar is more useful on a mobile environment, because on a desktop, it takes up space and I find less usable to have a menu that needs to be unfolded from a side. What I should do, but that's from my point of view, is have the menu on top in a desktop, and fixed, exactly like now (is very usable) and when in a screen size of a mobile, use a side menu. But well, this is just my opinion and I don't know anything about design xD

  In that regard, you could move the up/down votes under the avatar and perhaps the comment count, too. If a user wants to reply to a post, clicking the post is intuitive, and that trims down wasted space.
