Joe 7 years agoI agree and share the mobile first thing. Most people use the Android app so it's worth the effort.

Johnnynull 7 years agoEh. I like drop-downs. Lots of things use 'em.
FWIW, I'm still solely on the browser.- 1

Shrinking is a definitely no-no. And if top bar can't be removed from mobile version, maybe we should wait till it can be? Future is mobile. It would be prudent to treat mobile version as the main version. Also @Joe, drop down menus are clumsy on mobiles. Avoid that there.
There is one simplification, that I can already suggest in top bar: there are two links for feed and a third one for global feed. Keep only one on top and push the rest to settings.- 1

Joe 7 years ago@johnnynull that's what I was trying just need to think how to do it. May have 4 icons and a drop down at the top as User, Settings, and Sign Out can live in there on a desktop then the top bar can expand to show all of them on a mobile. Will start with the mobile first as I think that is how the site is used most.

Johnnynull 7 years agoIf you can have a drop-down in the top bar, you can eliminate most of what is currently there.

Joe 7 years agoRight I'm going to have another think. The problem I have with the side bar is it would only be on desktop so may not be worth having it to keep things simple. If we can simplify the top bar then we could just add more stuff to the pages and make it a little easier to navigate.

Pietlu 7 years agoyep, they are. and even if not, it wouldn't be that bad, if the users test a button to get to know their functionality... none of them will shut down Pjuus server nor launch a nuclear missile ;)

Joe 7 years agoYour right! I think I may simplify it a little. I don't think we're going to be able to get rid of the top bar on mobile so not sure if we should keep it. May even be worth getting rid of the text next to the icons. I think they're quite self explanatory?

Pietlu 7 years agowill the posts shrink even in fullscreen-mode? I guess, there is enough white-space on the left side, that it don't need to shrink, then...
