  #Bavaria and the Swiss #alps both were "virtual cycling tracks" in our local budget gym. ;)

  ahh, ok, that makes sense @meldrian - but fear not, everyone I know is fully aware of the fact that the german population do not wear lederhosen and maid outfits on a daily basis (or at all in a lot of cases).... is mundart like dialect? (speaking using different words according to which region you are from?). On the subject of Oktoberfest, I know quite a few people who have been, and loved it -they are also aware that this is not standard german behaviour!

  Bavaria is beautiful and everything but its still... Bavaria. Most germans make fun of bavarians because of their way of life and because of their "Mundart". Bavarian-german just sounds incredible stupid. Their political leaders are overpaid clowns too, soo ...
  if you're a tourist, bavaria is nice.
  If it's part of your own country, it's not.
  The WORST part is, because of Oktoberfest nearly everybody in the world thinks germans all look like that. It's disgusting.

  why is Bavaria bad, out if interest? we're just looking at somewhere for a few days holiday, and to eat, drink and be merry!

  @Armatus #Germany is quite large, it's just that #Russia is even larger. Try #Norway or #Denmark for small;)

  closest one is @sick_d, living south from Stuttgart (maybe 2 or 3h away from Munich)

  Minden is only around 150 - 200km away from Hamburg, so Munich is around 6h away from here

  Hamburg is more or less on the opposite location from Munich. You need to travel several hours from here to there.
