    Probably part of some plan to make WhatsApp and FB Messenger essentially the same programme with a slightly different face, make them compatible with each other, and cha-ching one huge step towards a monopoly of the mobile/IM market and more importantly of the users' personal information. The more they have that others don't, the more money in their exploiting of the data. The big problem is that those big companies refuse to support/develop open standards like XMPP-type deals, like MS and docx.

    I agree! I think FB + WhatsApp is a bad idea. They already have messenger so I'm not to sure as to why they bought it. It had to be to get this sort of data.

    Thanks for posting the link.
    We can at the very least *hope* it will make a difference. Facebook has far too much power and no measurable sense of ethics or honourable practices.
