#Voat now shows ads. Donations were simply not sufficient for 2 engineers to work full time on the site.
Even with a reasonable ad policy, it is a big compromise with their original utopian vision.

    I'd have said something about the history of voat I know and something general.

    No privacy violation if they stick exactly to the wordings of this announcement. They say they won't accept animated ads or scripts. They won't give any details about views or impressions to advertisers. They will take subverse specific ads though, in form of images of specified size.

    Nothing rings a bell in itself.
    In fact, the way they were going, it appeared only matter of time that they'd need genuine funds and ...

    I need to write a longer blog about this.

    Just looking through the post... is this going to affect privacy??? I would imagine the ads will be tracking.
