What changed people is the internet. Which is basically a complete new world. But the problems don't come from that, this new technology only made existing problems visible. People never wanted to do more than the minimum, and phones gavr them the ability to do even less. But maybe the problem is this overly present laziness, and nothing else. What kills isn't the knife, but the people using it to kill; phones don't make people lazy, but lazy people use phones to stay lazy.

I think our generation lost its power. They don't want to fight for change or future. They like their smartphone and as long as they have free WiFi they are calm like sheeps 😩

    One word answer: YES.
I'm not sure if it is for the better or the worse. I purposefully have not become too atached to my cellphone, but definately make up for that by all the time I spend on the computer tinkering with things.
It definately makes people more dependent on things, and I think that it doesn't help promote using your brain to figure out things/how to do things.

It would be amazing to see what would happen if the infrastructure would one day fall apart.

    Oh, yes.
Not only that some people can't live without their smartphone anymore, some of them seems to "think" with them: "Why should I think for myself, when I can use my smartphone for this?"
